I love the blog world and the circles within circles. A few weeks ago one of the photographers I admire, Amy Wenzel, was a guest judge over at another blog called I ♥ Faces. I followed her over there to see what it was all about and it was love at first click. Not only is there a wonderful community of photographers, amateur and pro alike, but the photographs featured are really beautiful. If you, like me, are late to the party, head on over there to find inspiration, helpful photography tips, and a very warm and welcoming group of talented people.
One of the features of I ♥ Faces is a weekly photo challenge. I've been there a few weeks now and have been too chicken to enter, but this week's challenge is "Silhouettes" and I have a favourite one I'd love to share.
Ahhhhhh. So peaceful.
This photo was one of the very first taken with my 400D. It had arrived the day before and I took it with us to learn while on vacation. We actually stopped to buy a bag on the way. Obviously, I was just learning the camera and had it set to auto. I've since taken other silhouettes and rarely flip back to auto, but this one remains one of my favourite photos. I love to go back to that day with my family at the beach, new camera in hand and dreams in my heart. I think that's one of the best things about photography, having images that can transport you to another time and place in an instant.
Head on over to I ♥ Faces to see lots more incredible silhouettes. And if you have a great silhouette to share, why not join in? It's not actually scary at all, promise!
