We woke up to a shiny, sparkly, magical world today:
Watch that first step!
Every branch, every blade of grass:
So shiny and sparkly that all the schools in the area were closed. It only took a quick peek out the window for Hubby to decide that today was a vacation day for him too. Let's see...first day of December and I have all of my family gathered safely around me. What's a girl to do?
That's right! We decked the halls! I'm not going to show you all the details just yet (I'm saving it for BooMama's Christmas Tour of Homes). I WILL tell you that there were carols playing, helpful hands, hot chocolate and love. There were also scratches (from the fake-o tree), tears, tangles, and a few small scirmishes. Just keeping it honest. And I'm telling you right here and now; this year when I take the tree down I'm carefully winding the beaded garland around a piece of cardboard instead of tucking it into a tin. I lost a full hour just untangling that stuff! Oh, and guess what the favourite decoration is, every single year?
My Princess is STILL sporting antlers, 8 hours later. The Boy and Sweetpea have been trading the Santa hat and other pair of antlers back and forth. Too much cuteness!
Oh, I'm also trying my hand at a little light painting with the tree:
I'll keep practicing! Happy Monday everyone!
