Remember that I was going to come back and blog some more when I was in a better mood?
Well, that took a little longer than expected.
I'm still bummed, but it's snowing, so that goes a long way towards cheering me up.
Also, I did a little mini scrap therapy yesterday: I made some Christmas cards.
Not just any Christmas cards, EASY Christmas cards. We're having a craft night at Guides next week and making cards for the local senior's home. So I needed to come up with a couple of card designs that are not only easy enough for 9-11 year olds, but fast to assemble and cheap. That's not much to ask, right?
Here's what I came up with:
I've had that kissing moose stamp for years and never used it. Tragic, I know. It's so cute! Maybe I'll do up a few cards just for special people this year :)
They liked the kiss-moose, but they preferred these ones:
Nothing spectacular, and the distresser in me wants to start inking and roughing things up, but the basic design is fun and I think we'll do well. All the cards were made with scraps that I had lying around, so we'll see what great Christmas papers I can find when I hit the stores.
You know what else cheered me up?
That's right, I went back to the Simple Scrapbooks website and re-read the previews of this super fun book. I even listened to the audio sample. Just hearing Lain's voice cheered me right up. Have you taken a listen yet? Lain has such a warm and friendly voice. I wish this was an audio book (hey Lain, any chance they'll do that soon?)
Copies go on sale very soon and all of us who love Lain and love scrapbooking are counting down the days. You may have noticed a bit of a blogging blitz this week as we all chatter about it. We just can't help ourselves! This is the perfect little pick-me up for when you're waiting in line, having a rainy day, or if you've just found out your LSS is closing. Preorder here!
You can even WIN a copy over at the Simple Scrapbooks site tomorrow (that's Thursday, Nov. 20th), where they're having a Virtual Launch Party. Now there's a real pick-me-up! Who doesn't love a party? Especially one you can attend while still in your pj's! You can go on over to Lain's if you want to start partying early. I'm told that "Dear Aunt Scrappy" may even be putting in appearances around the web. Now that's a celebrity sighting to get excited about!
