It's time for another 30 Minute Thursday Challenge!
This week's challenge: use a sports photo, something with a scalloped edge and a sticker.
Well, it's finally feeling like spring here in New Brunswick. Spring, when the songbirds return, the sun falls warm on your face, and the snow begins to melt.
There's only one sport I think about in the spring (and Lain, it's not Little League). One sport made extra adventurous by all of that glorious melting snow, snow that melts and swells all the little back creeks and rivers into things of beauty and majesty. Perfect settings for the best sport of all....
Love. It. (I'm in the bow--where I wish I was right about now)
Unfortunately, I haven't been in the canoe since I came east. I brought the canoe WITH me, but I seemed to always be pregnant or breastfeeding, and my canoe buddies have all scattered over the years. I miss them, and I miss the water. BUT--the kids are growing. I think I'm feeling brave enough to take them with me on some calm water this summer. It will be a few years before I get back to white water though. There's just something about risking the safety of my children's mother that I'm not up for. That, and everyone out here seems to prefer kayaking. I've only tried it once and it wasn't a roaring success, but I'll have to give it another go. Anyone else out there who used to live for a particular sport or hobby and gave it up when they had families? Anyone found a way to continue in spite of the kids? I know people who take even the smallest kids with them on canoe trips, but I'm a little too chicken (and lazy?) to try it...
Anyway, while I was playing at the scrap desk, I managed a second LO last night. This one is for Sweetpea's album and I based it on the sketch on page 79 of the March CK.
It was a good night. 2 pages done, a good dinner, laundry, and CSI returned. I love Thursdays. How about you?
