It's Music Festival Time--and we're busy, busy, BUSY! I feel like I've been running non-stop since I woke up Saturday morning, and it won't stop until this time next week (at least). God bless those who plan, organize and carry out these things, because I'm barely involved and I'm pooped.
The Princess and I both sang in the Ecumenical Choirs last night as part of the opening ceremonies and she did a poem recitation this morning. It went really well. I'll have photos, just as soon as I can edit them. That's basically it for us, though she tells me she wants to do more next year. She really loves the stage.
Getting to this point has involved tons of practice for both of us, and yesterday was the biggest practice day of all. I was stressed about having to be at church early for choir practice, sing in choir, do Sharing Time, leave church early for Ecumenical Practices...Having had General Conference last week, the kids were INSANE! I swear the Juniors had to have been on something (and mine were the worst). We had teachers leaving, teachers telling me they'd be absent, parents wanting to catch up...a regular day really, I just felt out of step the whole time.
At the end of the day, I had spent many hours in church but hadn't stopped working long enough to let church in me. My spirit was soothed a bit by the wonderful choirs last night, but even then I was somewhat distracted by the Princess. That's why I was so grateful to find this beautiful post by Veronica over at Toddled Dredge. Please go read it, especially if, like me, you found that you missed the joy of church yesterday. It will soften your heart and plant good seeds.
Just in time for spring.
