The plan for today was to dig into all the goodies from Lain. I started with a quick page about Spring (becuase I'm so ready for Spring!)
The two tags are stickers by Deluxe Designs that were part of the package. (also used 3Bugs in Rug Letter stickers, Dream Street PP and Dollar Store metal flowers)
Then, as I was clearing that up, along came the SweetPea. She was highly distressed that I had done a page that didn't belong in her book. She demanded that I make a bunny page for her.
A bunny page? We don't have a bunny. She has a bunny Webkinz, but I don't have any photos....after a long, exhausting conversation, I finally figured out that at some point she had spotted my oooooooold Beary Patch cutouts. I'd forgotten all about them and doubt I would have ever used them. In fact, I didn't want to use them now! I wasted some time arguing with her before I grew up. Whose album is this? HER album--and she can have whatever she wants. Come with me as I enter the way-back machine for this work of art:
Ah Beary Patch. What was the appeal?
While we were travelling back in time, we also broke out the stencils and dollar store sequins for this masterpiece:
(sorry all the photos are so bad. i should really know better than to try to get decent photos at night.)
After that she was finally happy and wandered off, leaving me free to find my groove again. I started where I always start when I've lost my groove: Becky's Sketch. Lain included the
April March CK in my happy mail so I used the sketch there (page 40) to do this quickie:
Now I'm feeling the groove, so I did a little sketch of my own...I ended up liking my sketch better than the finished product, but here it is:
Too much white space? I'm not sure.
But to thank you for reading this far, I'll give you my tip of the day:
I was missing several letters for my title but still had the backing and decided to trace the missing letters. I've done this before in the daytime by holding the "negative" up to the window (backwards). Unfortunately it's now night and very dark. What's a girl without a light box to do? Why turn on the oven light and use the oven door as a light box, of course! Worked wonderfully!
All in all, a productive scrapping day, even if I barely got to touch my new goodies. Soon I hope!
(ETA: MARCH CK. Sorry about that.)
