On Wednesday, it snowed.
It snowed and snowed and snowed...and then it rained.
Not something you want to drive in, but the views around here are amazing, even today.
The trees are coated in ice and when the sun shines on them, they light up like glass sculptures and start flashing like jewels. Even the boy noticed--"Look Mama, rainbow trees!"
I tried to get photos for you, but just can't seem to get one that in any way captures the breathtaking beauty outside my every window.
Of course, all that beauty also meant 2 snow days for the Princess and lots of opportunity for sliding around outside.
This is the gang, sliding down the unstacked portion of the woodpile. The crazy carpet was lost in the last big storm (they left it outside) so they're using garbage bags. Whatever works.
I'm slightly embarrassed that I spent more time taking pictures of the trees to try to capture their majesty than I did taking pictures of the kids. We all have fun in our own ways :)
Today I was hoping to drag the gang here but Daddy Bah-Humbug isn't interested (maybe because he's had to drive on the icy roads and I've only had to look at them?), and I'm afraid I'd lose a kid in the crowd, so we're sticking close to home.
Where the scenery continues to be lovely.
You can almost see the rainbows, right?
